Medan – FKM USU: Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Sharing Session of the “Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) on Friday (04/02). The event took place online by presenting three MBKM Batch 1 students to share their experiences.

Head of the undergraduate study program of FKM USU, Dr. Ir. Evi Naria M.Kes., who opened the event, said that the sharing session is a forum for students who have participated in the MBKM Program. It held to motivate and share tips and tricks to students who want to take part in this program to pass the selection they are interested in.

Dodi Saputra Hutagalung (Environmental Health Student of FKM USU 2018) shared his experience following the “Kampus Mengajar” Program. According to him, it is the first MBKM program held to help the teaching system of school children during the pandemic. Apart from teaching, this program also aims to share experiences and information in educating students to practice hygiene, sanitation, and personal health. This Environmental Health student also participated in the “Pejuang Muda” Program with placements in Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara.

Threesna Sharfina, a 2019 Health Policy Administration Student of FKM USU who had the opportunity to take part in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) Program at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, stated that she gained a lot of experience and increased insight by participating in the IISMA program. "Don't be afraid to try and don't think about whether to accept it or not. Students must have good plan matters," she said.

Jasmine Pratiwi (Environmental Health Student of FKM USU 2018) participates in the “Magang Bersertifikat” Program at PT. Danone Indonesia. According to Jasmine, to take part in a certified internship program, students can look for it through the MBKM website. “Find out companies that have specific internship programs,” she said.
