Medan - FKM USU: Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara Student Executive Board (BEM) held the 2024 Public Health Student Competition (KOMMAS) with the theme "Community Health Initiatives for a Sustainable Future", 17 – 19 April 2024. Deputy Dean I Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara Dr. Umi Salmah, S.K.M, M. Kes when opening the event said that this activity aims to develop students academic abilities and skills so they are able to compete at national and international levels. The types of competition in this competition consist of quizzes, public speaking, debates, scientific writing, and essays. The "Mikie" team was chosen to be 1st place in the quiz competition, the "Srikandi" team was 2nd place and the "Miracle" team was 3rd place. Fira Zinta was 1st place in public speaking, Susi Mutiara was 2nd place, and Venecia Thania Ruth Pakpahan was 3rd place. The "Nadi" Team won the debate competition as 1st place, the PHBS Team as 2nd place, and the "Relife" Team as 3rd place. The winners of the scientific writing competition were the "D'syo" Team (1st place), the "Amygdala" Team (2nd place), and the “Motivated Mavericks” Team (3rd place). The essay competition was won by Melini Tatio Enjelika Marpaung (1st place), Eva Sitorus (2nd place), and Vanecia Thania Ruth Pakpahan (3rd place). The judges in this competition are Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara lecturers.
